We appreciated the extended bench space and the provision of crockery and cutlery. the bathroom, although a bit cramped, had adequate hot water. the service was friendly, and we found the breakfast options to be satisfactory despite being limited.

So, I recently found myself needing a place to crash in Warragul and ended up at this motel. It was a mixed bag, to say the least. Let’s start with the good stuff. The room I got was pretty comfortable, which was nice. I had ample cupboard space, and the flat-screen TV was a decent size, making it easy to watch from almost anywhere in the room. The lighting was also a big plus—I could actually read without straining my eyes! I appreciated the extended bench space too, that was a handy touch. The bathroom was good-sized and stocked with plenty of towels, including face washers, which felt a bit luxurious. Good heating in the room as well: it kept me cozy on those chilly nights. Now, onto the not-so-great side. For one, the shower was tiny! I mean, I could barely turn around in there. And while the water was at a nice temperature, you had to deal with the cramped space. Oh, and I had a little hiccup with the key to my room at first; had to go back and get a new one. Thankfully, the owner was pretty understanding about it and didn’t charge me for breakfast because of that mess-up, which was decent of them. Then there was the soundproofing—or lack thereof. The windows were supposedly soundproof, but honestly, I could hear everything from outside. I had originally asked to be put in a quieter room away from the road but ended up in room 4. The noise from the traffic and even the TV next door was frustrating, especially at 4:30 in the morning when I was trying to sleep. Mentioned it to reception but their response was just a shrug. The cleanliness could definitely use some work too. The bench had sticky residue on it when I arrived, and the wardrobe door was stuck, which made it impossible to use. The lack of working lights—only one of the three above the bench worked—was just one more annoyance. The bathroom exhaust fan was grimy, and I found a missing screw in the sink plug. You could tell it was in desperate need of a full refurb. When it comes to amenities, I wished they had a hairdryer available in the room. I only realized it was missing in the morning when I could have really used it. I also didn't love the fact that there was limited parking, which made coming and going a hassle. Plus, the reception staff weren’t exactly friendly. I felt like I was bothering them when I asked for something—like the wifi number. The guy was pretty deadpan. In short, if things were spruced up, I’d think about coming back because the cost was lower than other places around. But the noise and cleanliness left much to be desired.
