Now, on to the not-so-great stuff. You’d think that a place with so many people sharing the space would at least have some solid housekeeping, but it was a bit of a letdown. I found the common areas, specifically the bathrooms, weren’t being cleaned as often as I would’ve liked. And don't even get me started on the room. There were some pretty sketchy bits—like roaches. Not fun when you're trying to unwind in your space. The laundry facilities were a bit of a mixed bag too. They had a washing machine and dryer, which was great, but they didn’t seem to be in top shape. A few times, it felt like they took an eternity to finish the cycle, which was just annoying when you’re in a rush to get out and explore. The sitting area wasn’t bad, but it felt very humid, especially since there was no aircon. It kind of made spending time there a bit uncomfortable. There’s also a terrace that should be a nice chill spot, but it just felt rundown and not super inviting. I noticed staff were using it as a smoking area too—a bit of a vibe killer when you're trying to relax. On a brighter note, the beds were comfy, and I loved those privacy curtains. It made a world of difference when it came to catching some sleep. But, I wish they would think about adding a couple more mirrors in the bedrooms. It’s so inconvenient sharing a space and having to wait forever for someone else to finish getting ready. But the icing on the cake was trying to check in—what a mess! I arrived right at the official check-in time only to find no one at the reception for a while. Kind of frustrating when you're desperate to drop off your bags and head out. Oh, and the whole vibe with the long-stay folks turning the whole place into a weed den wasn’t really my thing either. It felt like I was in someone’s living room rather than a vibrant hostel environment where you could socialize. That being said, there was a free breakfast available which seemed to attract a bunch of people. That was a nice touch for sure. So yeah, while there were definitely some cool features and a prime location close to the waterfront, the cleanliness issues and the overall vibe made it hard to fully enjoy my stay. If they could just up their game on cleaning and create a more welcoming environment, they could really be onto something special. But at the moment? I don't think I'll be coming back.
