The staff are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, from carrying my heavy luggage to folding my clothes. The room was immaculately clean and the air conditioning provided a much-needed escape from the heat. The included breakfast at Sol Bakery was delicious and filling. I especially loved the hip and modern decor of the rooms, creating a cool surf-like vibe throughout the hotel.

We stumbled upon Zulu Surf Hotel during our last-minute search for a place to stay in Tamarindo, and we couldn't have been happier. the hip and cool surf-like vibe, along with the clean and updated rooms, immediately made us feel welcome. the hotel's convenient location, just a few yards away from bus transportation and several places to eat and a bar area, was a major plus. We especially loved the incredible, authentic Costa Rican breakfast and the nice open areas on the first and second floor where we could relax in hammocks and enjoy the outdoors. As backpackers, we loved the welcoming and friendly staff, the delicious breakfast from the bakery downstairs, and the discount coupons for nearby restaurants and bars. The location in the city center and close to the beach was ideal.
