reykholar hostel was the perfect cozy getaway in the southern westfjords. the clean rooms, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen made it feel like home. the sauna, jacuzzi, and beautiful views were just the icing on the cake. the welcoming staff and overall vibe of the place made me want to return again and again.

Basement room needed better lighting.

We stayed at a hostel in Reykholar and had a wonderful experience. Due to a severe storm, we had to stay an extra night, but the hostel's basement room provided a bright, comfortable, and safe space to wait out the weather. the living room area was cozy, with comfortable chairs and a TV that played radio stations. We were able to watch the storm unfold through the large picture window. After the storm passed, we were treated to a breathtaking Northern Lights display at 1:30 am. the next morning, we were in awe of the snow-covered mountains across the street. the hostel also had a convenient market nearby where we could find everything we needed, including gas.

We had an amazing stay at a cozy hostel in a charming town. The rooms were spacious and warm, with stunning views from the windows. The owner was incredibly accommodating, even when we arrived late at night. The pool and sauna were fantastic, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The common areas, like the kitchen and lounge, were well-equipped and clean. it was the best accommodation we experienced in Iceland.

Although the building appeared run-down from the outside, it didn't affect our stay. In addition, there was no option to use the kitchen for personal use despite staying in a dorm room.

The town is a bird-lover's dream, with stunning views and delicious seafood. Travelling here is eco-friendly and you can visit interesting museums. The hostel offers free WiFi, parking, and a sauna.

The twin room had a decent size and a beautiful view of the mountains, with comfy beds. The showers and toilets were amazing, big, and brand new. Plus, the highlight was the hot tub outside and apparently there is a steam room in the basement as well. It was a great stay and the owners were very sweet and accommodating.

I stayed at this cozy hostel for one night during my trip to the Westfjords. The dorm room was spacious and the single beds were much better than bunk beds. The kitchen provided free coffee all day, and the big dining room was a nice place to relax. Although I didn't use it, there was a hot tub outside, and the location was perfect for exploring the cliffs. The highlight of my stay was witnessing the incredible Northern Lights after a snowstorm.

The WiFi was reliable and there was easy parking right outside. The highlight for me was the hot tub outside with thermal water, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. Even though there were some minor drawbacks, such as the narrow stairs and limited bathroom facilities in the basement rooms, it was still a good place to stay. I highly recommend this hostel for its comfortable accommodations and pleasant amenities.

reykholar exceeded our expectations during our romantic trip. the cozy basement room made us feel safe and comfortable during the storm. witnessing the breathtaking northern lights and snow-capped mountains nearby was mind-blowing.

During our trip to Iceland, we stayed in 8 different places and Reykholar was the best. It was also surprisingly affordable. The highlights were the hot tub outside, spacious rooms that easily accommodated four people and their luggage, a lovely common area with a beautiful view, and the unexpected provision of sheets.

I had an amazing time exploring the west fjords and Reykholar was the perfect base for my trip. The location is great, tucked away in a peaceful area on the outskirts. The host was friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with a spacious kitchen, shared dining and living rooms. The surroundings were beautiful, with easy access to nearby hot springs and a local swimming pool. The mini hot water pool and steam sauna at the hostel were also a nice touch. Definitely one of the nicest places I've stayed, with great value for money.
