We had an amazing stay at Hotel Skalholt! the location was brilliant and perfect for exploring more of south and east Iceland, including the Golden Circle. the countryside surrounding the hotel was absolutely stunning, and the hotel itself had a beautiful and modern design. the staff provided excellent attention and made us feel very well taken care of. Despite the hotel not being particularly modern, it had a charming atmosphere and an interesting history. the food at the hotel was beyond words - absolutely delicious and sublime. We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights during our stay. Thank you, Hotel Skalholt, for providing us with such a wonderful experience!

We stayed in a cozy room with comfortable beds and stunning views of the mountains and valleys. The location was perfect, close to the airport and next to a beautiful church. The staff was kind and the breakfast delicious. We enjoyed taking walks in the serene village and crossing the bridge over the river Hvítá at Iða.

The menu options in the on-site restaurant were limited and expensive compared to other places we ate in Iceland.

One of the best aspects of this hotel is its location. Close enough to KEF airport for convenience, yet away from the hustle and bustle of restaurants and city noise. Situated next to the church and just a short walk to the bridge over the river Hvítá at Iða, the surroundings are peaceful and serene. It's a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful views.

Small houses have separate bedrooms and a kitchen. Beautiful view of Hekla volcano. Close to Golden Circle attractions. Scenic and tranquil grounds.

We had an amazing New Year's experience at this cozy accommodation! the included breakfast and noon meals were a pleasant surprise and saved us some money. the location was perfect for exploring the stunning nearby sights. Plus, the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We especially enjoyed the comfortable beds and spacious cabin that gave us plenty of room to relax.

The shower needs improvement as the whole bathroom floor gets wet, but it is not much of an issue. the cabin windows were not completely dark, which made it hard to block out the bright winter sun when it was time to sleep.

Our first night in Iceland was mind-blowing! The hosts were super friendly and gave great advice. Despite the quiet winter, they offered a delicious breakfast buffet with a surprising kombucha drink. The hotel had stunning views of the cathedral and surroundings, making it a truly peaceful and beautiful location. I highly recommend staying here!
