The hotel was clean and had great facilities. Parking and transportation were convenient. The location was peaceful and had scenic views. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The access to the hotel was a bit challenging, especially at night, making it difficult to get in and out easily.

Spent a lovely Easter weekend in an amazing historical house, full of character and beautiful gardens. the cozy atmosphere makes you feel like you're staying at a dream house. the library is impressive, like a scene from a Harry Potter movie. the location is great for those who want to enjoy the peace and nature. the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The driveway is very steep and in bad condition. Not an easy place to arrive at without a car.

Quinta De Sao Thiago in Sintra is an absolute gem. It offers Downton Abbey grandeur with a relaxed and homey atmosphere. The staff is wonderfully welcoming, the breakfast is excellent, and the pool and gardens are amazing. The location, just 35 minutes from Lisbon airport, adds to the adventure and charm of this hidden away treasure.

Lovely pool but bad smell

We arrived at Quinta De Sao Thiago without a reservation and were disappointed by the abandoned and empty Vila Rosa recommended by Lonely Planet. We called Quinta De Sao Thiago and booked a room for the next two nights. The old house exudes character and offers a glimpse into the rich Portuguese past. We were initially shown a room at the back of the house facing a laundry area, which felt like a cheap B&B. However, after negotiating, we were able to get a double room with great views of the woods and the pool. The furniture, although antique, needed some care. The bed was not great, but the shutters kept the light out for a perfect afternoon nap. Unfortunately, the bathroom had a persistent sewage smell, even with the door closed. The shower was in a cute alcove, but the water pressure and temperature were lacking. However, the staff were friendly and accommodating, serving breakfast until late afternoon. The location, surrounded by woods, required navigating a dirty road. Yet, it was only a short drive to the historical city of Sintra and even Lisbon. The highlight of our stay was the lovely pool, which we enjoyed on a sunny day, surrounded by the forest. I would recommend this hotel for its unique charm and beautiful pool area.

I recently had the most unique experience at a charming B&B in a picturesque location. The B&B felt like a well-kept museum, with its traditional decor and idyllic setting. The beautiful garden and amazing pool added to the overall ambiance, making it a perfect spot for relaxation.

Although the rooms were a bit dated, I didn't mind the old-school feel. In fact, it added to the charm of the place.
