my recent stay in kanchanaburi was a peaceful break, but Pongphen Guesthouse - Sha Plus Certified truly exceeded my expectations. The staff was attentive and friendly, the location was excellent and the river views were peaceful. The breakfasts were delicious with plenty of fresh fruit.

Close to other attractions, just a short walk to the famous bridge. The hotel facilities were great, including a clean and spacious swimming pool.

We loved the beautiful outlook onto the river, it was such a picturesque view. The food at the hotel's restaurant was not only delicious but also affordable. The location was very convenient, within walking distance to the war cemetery and museum. We also had a fantastic time riding a long boat down the river and walking across the bridge to watch the passing train. It was an enjoyable stay and we look forward to returning in the future.

The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding, from the spotless rooms to the crystal clear pool. the staff was always busy ensuring that everything was in pristine condition. the location was perfect, right in the middle of everything, and we were able to easily explore the nearby attractions. the food at the restaurant was delicious and we were pleased with the variety of options available. it was an excellent value for the affordable price.

Initially, some of the staff seemed a bit unfriendly, but they became friendlier and more helpful as our stay progressed. the ongoing construction work near the hotel took away from the charm of the place and created some noise disturbance.

The hotel is conveniently located near the famous bridge over the river Kwai and the main street with bars and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making my stay truly memorable. Additionally, the hotel's cleanliness and the availability of parking are commendable. Transportation is also convenient with the covered yellow bus stop being close by.

There were a few negative aspects to my stay. The noise from the room next door was quite bothersome.

Upon arrival, the staff welcomed me with big smiles and a refreshing glass of fruit juice. the guesthouse is situated at the end of a quiet side road, away from the hustle and bustle, offering a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Nearby, there are convenient amenities such as a Tesco Lotus with ATMs, a 7-11, as well as various bars and eateries. the Pong Phen restaurant, located within the guesthouse, provided a peaceful setting for enjoyable meals. the breakfast choices were excellent, and the portions were generous, allowing me to enjoy a delicious banana pancake both for breakfast and as a snack later.
