Lee, the host, was super helpful and gave us mind-blowing local photography tips. The well-stocked kitchen and cozy sitting area were jaw-dropping. The hostel had free Wi-Fi, a hot tub , and loads of books, games, and DVDs. It was an ideal base for hiking and cycling with secure bicycle storage. The warm welcome and free tea and coffee were a nice touch. The outdoor dining area and garden with ducks were amazing. We had a great night drinking and chatting with Lee. a fantastic venue for a cozy and comfortable stay.

The location of the hostel is excellent, just a stone's throw from a lovely café and the famous Dalwhinnie distillery. The cleanliness of the facilities and rooms was outstanding, which was a big plus. Additionally, the hostel offered great value for money, ensuring you get the most out of your stay.

That the local food options close quite early, around 4.30 pm, so it's important to plan ahead for your evening meal. Another drawback was the noise level in the hostel, with the movements of other guests being easily heard.

Our stay at the Old School Hostel was exceptional value for money. The room was clean, comfortable, and had beautiful views of the mountains. The location was convenient, just across the road from the train station, and the staff, especially Lee, were friendly and helpful.

When it comes to breakfast choices, it would have been nice to have more variety.

We had an amazing stay at the Old School in Dalwhinnie. the location was stunning, with breathtaking views of the mountains from our window. Being right next to the train station was incredibly convenient for our travels. the staff were welcoming and friendly, and we especially loved the cozy atmosphere with a warm fire to relax by after a long hike. the hostel was exceptionally clean, and we even made friends with the two adorable cats. Lee, the host, was extremely helpful and gave us great advice on where to go for food and photography spots. the well-stocked kitchen was a bonus, and we also discovered a little shop before leaving.

We recently stayed at the Old School Hostel for one night during our journey through Scotland. The hostel exceeded our expectations in every way. It was exceptionally clean and well-organized, with a fully equipped kitchen and multiple clean bathrooms. The bedroom was spacious and the bed linen was clean and fresh. The hostel is conveniently located across the road from the train station, making it perfect for walkers, hikers, and cyclists. We also appreciated the friendly and informative host who made our stay even more enjoyable. We have already recommended this gorgeous hostel to fellow travelers.
