Just had a fantastic stay on the NC500 route at Smithy House & Cottages. the studio room was cozy with two single beds, and the log burner provided by the owner kept us warm. It's a remote location, so remember to bring your own food. the hosts, Christian and Eric, were welcoming and made us feel at home. We enjoyed watching the clouds from the comfy chairs in the living room. the location is perfect for exploring Stoer Lighthouse, Kylescu Bridge, Lochinver, and even grabbing tea at Flossie's Beach hut. As a knitter, I was thrilled to find Ripples in Clachtoll selling hand-dyed wool. Definitely recommend this remote and peaceful place!

The cottage at "The Smithy House & Cottages" was absolutely charming and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The wood burner and the lovely view added to the overall charm of the place. We enjoyed cooking our own meals in the well-equipped kitchen and appreciated the cozy bed and the availability of books, games, and guides to keep us entertained. The host was extremely helpful and friendly, providing us with great recommendations for local attractions. we had a wonderful time and would definitely return.

Drawbacks: The only downside was that there was no selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate, or biscuits provided, which we had hoped for given the price we paid. Additionally, it would have been nice to have a double bed instead of two separate beds.

This cozy and well-appointed cottage is perfect for families with kids. The beds are comfortable, the heating is efficient, and there's even a wood-burning stove for that extra warmth. The hosts are welcoming and have thoughtfully prepared everything for a comfortable stay. Set in a stunning location, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and coastline. There's no need for a TV here, as books, games, and guides are provided for entertainment. Plus, the cottage is conveniently located near beautiful beaches and a lighthouse.

One small drawback is that the "Cottage with lake view" doesn't actually offer a direct view of the lake from the room.
