The location was perfect for our hike up Helvellyn, with the various routes starting right outside the hostel. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with helpful information about the area. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day of walking. The food, especially the pizza, was delicious, and we also appreciated the breakfast and drying room facilities. this hostel provided a nice and comfortable place to stay for our hiking adventure.

The views of the surrounding greenery were absolutely breathtaking, and being able to swim in the nearby river was a wonderful bonus. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The shower was spotlessly clean and the rooms were cozy yet comfortable. Additionally, the living area had a wide selection of games, with almost 20 options to choose from. the cleanliness, hotel facilities, location, and friendly staff made my experience here truly enjoyable.

I recently stayed at Yha Helvellyn for a week to enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the location. The team at the hostel were exceptional, always helpful and friendly. The self-catering kitchen was well-equipped, with sharp knives for cooking. The shower/toilet block was always clean and spacious. My room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring the area and the manager provided great advice for hiking.

Road to the hostel was horrendous.

stayed in glenridding once before, but Yha Helvellyn surpassed expectations! Friendly staff, cozy rooms, and breathtaking views. Great hot chocolate, delicious cakes, and even had a swim in the river. Showers were hot, and there were plenty of games to play. a fantastic experience!
