The room had curtains on each bed for privacy, which was a nice touch. The free breakfast was also a pleasant surprise, with hot oatmeal and crispy toast. there were a few issues that dampened my experience. The heating system was a nightmare. One night, I couldn't sleep due to the cold, and even after I asked for help, the staff just provided an extra blanket, which didn't do much. The beds were another letdown; they felt like something out of a prison. My back was in agony every morning, and even my daughter, who's only 14, had trouble sleeping. the bathroom could have been bigger, especially during peak season. I mean, one shower for a whole floor is not ideal. And let's not forget the dryer mishap - setting the time for 45 minutes when 20 would have sufficed. Wasting time and money is never fun. One incident that really soured my stay was when the front desk mistakenly placed a man in my all-female dorm. Thank goodness my friend was around, or I would have had to spend the night elsewhere. All in all, Hi Chicago has its pros and cons. If they could improve the beds and heating system, it could be a much more comfortable stay. But for now, I might explore other options for my next trip to Chicago.

The location of this hotel could not be better for exploring the city. I took a day trip to Milwaukee from Union Station, which was a short walk away. It was ideal for walking to the northern part of the loop, the park along the lake, and the metro. Being a fan of sightseeing, the ability to walk to various landmarks like Cloud Gate, Skydeck Chicago, and Grant Park was perfect for me. the breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options, and the staff were friendly and helpful. the shared spaces were great, especially the leisure room.

One thing that could be improved is the noise level in some rooms due to the nearby train tracks. Although my stay was comfortable, I can understand how it might be bothersome to light sleepers.
