We stayed one night while traveling the coast and it was perfect for a couple wanting to travel cheap but comfortably. Room was a good size, comfy bed, toilets and showers were clean and well maintained. Great stop off for a night or two - would've stayed longer if we had the time! The staff were so helpful and friendly, and Nikki, the woman who checked us in, was so friendly and showed us around. The hostel had a real community feel and was absolutely beautiful as well. Good location, fantastic staff and food facilities - well worth the money. 100% recommend this hotel.

I stayed at Dougies for my 88-day visa extension and it was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was lovely, and the shared kitchen and bathroom were always clean. The hostel had a great atmosphere with different spaces for socializing and quiet time. The laundry machines were reasonably priced and the hostel bar had a fantastic happy hour with affordable beers.

For us, it was ideal.

Additionally, the hotel's central location in Port Douglas makes it easy to explore the area and access all the main attractions.

We had a blast at the hostel, meeting so many international guests and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The pool area was a great spot to relax and cool off. The staff was friendly and made us feel right at home. The shared kitchen had all the necessary amenities and it was fun cooking and socializing with other guests. we had an amazing experience at Dougies Backpackers Resort and would highly recommend it.

I had a wonderful stay in a double room at a hostel in a convenient location. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and well set up. The hostel had a beautiful tropical garden and outside seating area. It was also close to the beach, allowing for easy access to the waterfront and all its activities. it was a great place to base myself for my trip.

The hostel was sometimes crowded with long-term residents, which made it difficult to socialize with other guests.

Staff was friendly and attentive, always available to assist with the needs of the guests. The pool was a refreshing escape from the hot weather. Location was convenient, with many nearby transportation options.

Noise was a constant issue throughout the night. The rooms were not soundproof and other guests were loud and inconsiderate, making it difficult to sleep.
