Our stay at Shantara Resort was wonderful! The boutique hotel atmosphere was lovely, and our spacious and modern 2-bedroom apartment was perfect. We loved the convenient location, just a short walk from the city center strip, where we enjoyed dining and shopping. The highlight was definitely the living room opening to a deck that led straight to the pool. Despite the absence of amenities outside the room, there were plenty of options within a short walk. I highly recommend this hotel.

The resort is conveniently located on the mountain side, providing easy access to both the beach and the main shopping strip in Port Douglas. Guests can enjoy a short stroll to soak up the sun and sand or explore the vibrant shops and restaurants. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and plenty of towels provided. The friendly and helpful reception staff ensures a pleasant stay.

Sound travels easily in the resort, which can be a minor disturbance for some guests.

Amazing Poolside Experience

During my stay at Shantara Resort, I had the most incredible poolside experience. The pool was absolutely divine and well-maintained. It provided the perfect place to relax and unwind. The pool area was clean and inviting, and I enjoyed spending lazy hours soaking up the sun. It was a peaceful and tranquil setting, ideal for adults looking for a quiet retreat. Despite being in the middle of winter, the pool was still enjoyable. I had a fantastic time at Shantara Resort and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Port Douglas.

Lovely stay with well-equipped rooms. Close to the beach and restaurants. The pool area was beautiful, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun. The fact that there was a beauty salon on-site was a great advantage, allowing me to indulge in a fabulous spray tan. the location of the hotel was fantastic as it was just a short walk to the esplanade and all the amazing restaurants in the area.

The pillows in the room were a bit hard and full, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. It would have been great if there was an option for different pillow types.

We had a fantastic city trip and stayed in a great resort with amazing facilities. The hotel was conveniently located close to the beach and main street, which made it very easy for us to walk around and explore the area. We also appreciated the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, which was a nice touch for our anniversary celebration. the room was spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay.

There were a few negative aspects that detracted from our overall experience. While the staff at reception were friendly and helpful, the management seemed less so, with one manager not willing to provide an extra towel for the gym despite hygiene reasons.

The BBQ area is well-equipped with utensils, making it convenient for guests to enjoy a meal. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with well-appointed bathrooms and ample towels provided. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing great advice to make the most of your time in town.

There was some construction work happening nearby during our stay, which could be a potential disturbance for guests seeking a peaceful and quiet experience.

The resort had beautiful gardens and a great location, just a few minutes walk to the main street and Four Mile Beach. The studio room was comfortable and had all the necessary facilities, including air conditioning and a washing machine. The pool and private deck were a bonus for easy access.

It felt like visiting family, with staff being welcoming and helpful, even going the extra mile to arrange a transfer for me when I overslept.

This hotel offers luxurious and exclusive amenities that fulfilled all our needs. The outdoor swimming pool and sun loungers were perfect for relaxation, without the inconvenience of too many people around. The garden area is well-maintained and adds to the overall serene ambiance. Additionally, the Spa centre provides a variety of massage options, including full-body, foot, back.

The only minor issue we encountered was the lack of dining options on-site. While there are BBQ facilities available, having a restaurant and bar/lounge area would have added to the overall experience of the hotel.
