The location of Wood Takayama was absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the charming old town. The staff went above and beyond to provide excellent service, even offering to call a cab or drop us off at the station. The hotel itself is stunning, with a modern design that seamlessly blends with the surrounding historic area. The lounge area was a great place to relax and unwind, especially during the free happy hour where guests gathered to chat and play games. The room was simple and calming, with a beautiful shower and access to the hot bath in the spa area. The hotel also celebrated local foods and drinks, and the sake tasting was a fun and memorable experience. Breakfast was good and the overall ambience was calm and serene.

The only minor drawbacks were the firm beds and lack of a reading light, but these were not major issues.

The hotel was in a great spot near lots of cafes and shops. The lounge area is really nice and there’s a bar with free drinks including sake and beer. The shared bath was a relaxing way to unwind after a day of walking.

The bed was way too hard for me and made sleeping uncomfortable. The room was quite dark making it difficult to read maps or do any writing.

Fantastic in every way, from cleanliness to hotel facilities. right next to a Family Mart. to leave this city with. Staff was excellent.
