Limited shower options, but not inconvenient. Comfy futon with warm feet warmer. Charming decor, new and clean. Lovely indoor and outdoor baths. Yukatas and samue nightwear provided. Fantastic kaiseki meal and breakfast in private room. Friendly and helpful staff, despite limited English. Amazing breakfast and good provided, even without dinner option. Wonderful snowy mountain surroundings. Supreme retreat.

Beautiful retreat with modern and traditional aesthetics, spacious rooms with private bathrooms, wonderful bathing facilities, incredibly nice owners, delicious meals even when not ordered ahead.

There was nothing I didn't like.

We had a wonderful stay surrounded by snowy mountains. The staff was incredibly friendly and the meals were delicious, with local specialties. In our clean and spotless traditional room, we enjoyed the little personal touches such as handwritten welcome messages and flower drawings. We also loved the private onsens, and the massage chair room was a nice extra touch.

The rural location meant there was not much to do in the area, and it was necessary to order dinner and breakfast ahead of time. , some rooms did not have private onsens and the public baths were sometimes crowded.

At this hotel, the attention to detail is simply outstanding. From the beautiful traditional tatami rooms to the modern amenities, every aspect of the hotel is well thought out. The staff are attentive and friendly, going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with the added bonus of a hot bath inside. It's the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the surrounding area.

All in all, this hotel exceeded my expectations.

I had a wonderful stay at a ryokan in Matsumoto. The traditional tatami room was beautifully decorated and had all modern amenities. The staff were attentive and friendly, and even though their English was limited, they were able to answer my questions. The highlight was definitely the delicious Kaiseki Cuisine, with a helpful explanation sheet in English. The ryokan was also easily accessible by public transport. I highly recommend this ryokan for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
