We had an amazing experience at this luxurious 4-star hotel in Gifu. The location was perfect, right across from the bus terminal, making it convenient for exploring the village. The service provided by the staff was top-notch, with the family members going out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the necessary amenities like heating and air conditioning. The dining experience was exceptional, with carefully prepared and delicious meals that surpassed our expectations. Additionally, the hotel offered complimentary vouchers for the nearby hot spring and even a bus tour around the village. we had a superb stay and can't wait to return.

Situated in a convenient location, just opposite the bus station, Shimoyamakan offers free bike rental to explore the surrounding area easily. The rooms are clean and provide stunning views of the river and gardens. The family-run business offers exceptional service, providing guests with a warm welcome, delicious meals, and even a van tour of the local sights. The attention to detail, such as warm boots and umbrellas waiting outside, adds to the overall experience.

The only drawback is that drinks at dinner are not included and can be pricey.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at a ryokan in Shirakawa. The accommodations and the food were exquisite. The family that runs the inn stole my heart with their hospitality and genuine care. The private tour through the main road of Shirakawa-go, arranged by the family, made me feel like a VVIP. The conversations with the family were particularly memorable, as they were humble and authentic. The location of the ryokan, right in front of the village's bus terminal, was also a plus. I highly recommend this hotel for a truly treasured experience.

Great location and easy to get around. Close to the bus stop which was very convenient. The room was clean and spacious, it had all the necessary amenities. The hotel offered a tour of the surrounding area which was helpful to get an overview of the place. The dinner was okay, but the breakfast was great, definitely a highlight of the stay.

The service wasn't what we expected. The staff was not very friendly or accommodating.
