I was initially drawn to this inn due to its convenient location near the university. Upon arrival, I found the room to be absolutely lovely, with a charming and cozy atmosphere. Despite the small size and slanted ceilings, I didn't mind as I am on the shorter side. The breakfast served at the inn was outstanding, with delicious farm-fresh food and crusty, delightful potatoes. The weekend staff were fantastic and provided excellent service. I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Excelsior Inn.

Although the restaurant was closed during my visit, the breakfast offered was still good, with a selection of hard-boiled eggs, pastries, yogurt. However, I do miss the opportunity to dine at the Excelsior, as it was my favorite restaurant from 40 years ago.

Located in a cozy restaurant down a not very nice alley, this hotel is a gem. Each room is uniquely designed with composer themes, antique furniture, and thoughtful touches, such as oil lamps and wine glasses. The breakfast, made from farm-fresh ingredients, is outstanding, and guests may order from a menu. Parking is a bit tight behind the property, but the hotel provides a parking pass for a nearby hospital garage.

The bathroom in one of the rooms had a wobbly toilet that needed to be reset.
