I was awed by the history at the Visitor Center—the replica plane was mind-blowing. The gardens were like a serene oasis, perfect for my hiking-loving family. The spacious rooms fit us like a glove, and the food was a knockout. Plus, our furry friend could join the fun! The property had a fresh new look, and the beach access was a breeze. The oceanfront view from the Penthouse Suite was next level. a top choice for a family getaway.

The staff at this hotel were all very friendly & polite, always making us feel welcome. Housekeeping was on point, with our room serviced daily and fresh towels provided without having to ask. the beach access was great and the views from the balcony were spectacular. We enjoyed starting our day with the free breakfast, which offered a nice selection of hot and cold items. the location was perfect, close to fun places to explore.

One improvement could be adding more seating in the rooms, such as a coffee table or chairs for added comfort. the entrance to the hotel could be made safer, especially during wet weather, by adding a mat to prevent slipping hazards.

I was pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful touches in the room, such as the six-foot sliding glass doors that allowed for a seamless connection to the beautiful Outer Banks beachfront. the easy access to nearby attractions like the Wright Brothers National Memorial and Jockey's Ridge State Park made my stay at John Yancey Oceanfront Inn truly memorable.

The easy beach access and onsite amenities like the pool, picnic area, and playground made it perfect for our large family. The kids had a blast at the nearby YMCA with its pools, water park, and free child care. The water sports at Albemarle Sound were an absolute hit, offering jet skiing, parasailing, and more.

In my wife's opinion, adding more organized kids' activities would enhance the family experience.

I keep returning for the late departure assistance and enjoyable stays. With Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, breakfast, and a private beach, it's an ideal fit. The romantic escape is the highlight, along with the comfort of non-smoking rooms and a fitness center.

My wife and I had a WOW experience! We got upgraded to an amazing oceanfront room with a spectacular view. The room was clean, comfortable, and right by the beach. The shower pressure was superb, making it a memorable stay. Overall, a fantastic getaway with breathtaking views.

From the moment I walked in, the staff was super friendly and helpful - shoutout to William! The newly renovated room was like a dream with a comfy bed, modern kitchenette, and spacious bathroom. The cherry on top? A lovely complimentary breakfast with healthy options. Only suggestion would be to add another protein option for breakfast, but overall, this gem of an inn left me wanting to return soon!

we had a delightful stay at john yancey. we requested an ocean view room and were pleased to step onto the sandy beach right from our room. karen provided excellent service, answering all our questions and ensuring we had a quiet room on the peaceful side of the hotel. the location was perfect, close to dining and shopping options, with plenty to do. overall, a wonderful experience with friendly staff.

The general areas were well-maintained, and the hotel's accessibility for senior people was excellent, with easy navigation and helpful staff always ready to assist. It was a welcoming and cozy environment, perfect for seniors looking to relax and enjoy their stay.

I would ask for better accessibility options for senior people, as some areas could be challenging for those with mobility issues. It would be beneficial to have more assistance available for the children of the staff to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable vacation experience for seniors.

The beach access was primo for catching some waves, and we also hit up the water park at the YMCA – super fun! Plus, the jet skiing and parasailing at Albemarle Sound was epic. And let's not forget the hotel's pool, BBQ area, and playground – perfect for chilling and hanging out!

The only thing missing was a kickin' beachside party spot. It would've been awesome to have a beach bar or some nighttime events right at the hotel for us young folks to keep the good times rolling!
