So, I recently found myself needing a place to crash for the night and thought I’d try this motel. Honestly, I’m still kind of shocked by what I walked into. First off, I can't believe how dirty the place was. The carpet looked ancient and a little questionable, definitely not something I’d want to walk barefoot on. And the room's general vibe? Super uninviting—like it hadn't been updated since the 70s. I mean, who wants to stay somewhere that feels like a set from a low-budget film? Let’s talk about the air conditioning. It blew out some seriously dusty air; I'm thinking those filters haven't seen a cleaning in ages. Maybe that’s part of why I felt stuffy the whole time. The absence of any proper ironing facilities was also a letdown. I had wrinkled clothes from my trip, and there just wasn’t a way to sort that out without looking like I rolled out of bed. The bathroom? Ugh. Mould everywhere; it was bad. The shower was like a game of how to get burnt or frozen, and figuring out the temperature was a challenge I didn’t need. The hairdryer didn’t work either, and that really sucked because I had nothing to dry my hair with. Seriously, did they even check if these amenities worked before renting out the rooms? I will say the bed was comfy enough, thankfully, because after all the chaos, I really just needed to sleep. But as much as I tried to rest, I kept hearing everything from outside—cars pulling in and out, voices, you name it. Not the peaceful night I was hoping for! I was really looking forward to something to drink after a long day, but no welcome drinks or even a kettle in the room? Just a flat-screen TV that didn’t quite make up for the fact everything else felt outdated and grimy. Oh, and housekeeping? Didn’t feel like it happened at all while I was there. It was such a letdown, really. I'm usually not picky, but cleanliness is just basic stuff, right? I honestly wouldn't recommend this place until it gets a major makeover. If you find yourself looking for a place to stay, you might want to keep searching.

I loved how spacious our room was and it was super close to the beach and local attractions, which made exploring easy. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which kept me connected to my friends for all the New Year vibes! But wow, the negatives really brought the vibe down! The staff weren’t exactly friendly;

The indoor swimming pool was nice and enjoyable.

The receptionist was unhelpful and rude about my visitors. The room had faulty fixtures and the hair dryer didn't work.

the place was super clean. it's so close to the princes highway - perfect for my meeting. the owner - tye - is really friendly and great for a chat. the pool and hot tub were great touches for relaxing after a long day.

I ordered room service for breakfast, and they definitely didn’t skimp on the bacon! the cleaning staff kept everything tidy and fresh, and I loved using the indoor pool and spa area to unwind after a day out checking out local spots. Plus, it was super convenient being just a quick drive from Dapto and Wollongong.

While I had a great time, a couple of things could be improved. the parking situation was a bit cramped, making it tricky to maneuver in and out.

I appreciate the convenient location, as it's just 1 km from my relatives and a short taxi ride to town. the motel is 200 meters from the freeway, making my commute for business in Berkeley smooth. the staff are friendly and efficient, which adds to the overall experience. I find the bed comfortable enough for a good night's sleep.

The bathroom cleanliness leaves much to be desired, with noticeable mould and maintenance issues present.

we had a wonderful stay at the elsinore motor lodge. the welcoming hosts made us feel at home right away, and we appreciated their attentiveness, especially regarding a minor issue with the tap. the wifi was excellent, and we enjoyed a variety of channels on the tv. the room was very tidy, and we found the bed comfortable. after long days of exploring, we loved relaxing in the clean heated pool and hot tub, which were simply delightful.

Everything was as expected 😊.

As an environmental scientist and surfer, I found Elsinor Motor Lodge in Wollongong quite homely. the heated pool was a fantastic way to unwind after a day of exploring. While there were minor cleanliness issues, the lovely managers and the inviting atmosphere made our stay enjoyable. A charming place for families!
