We had a fantastic time exploring the Great Southern Rail Trail right next to the motel. The kids loved biking along the scenic paths, and it was a great way for us to unwind together as a family while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. My kids wished there were more outdoor activities available.

I got a great deal on two last-minute rooms, and the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful.

we had a pleasant stay at the motel, appreciating the friendly staff and clean rooms. it was an ideal spot for our trip to wilson’s prom, with takeaway meals from the nearby pub making our evenings enjoyable. having separate rooms allowed us to relax comfortably, and sitting outside together was a highlight of the stay. we also found the motel to be a great base for exploring the great southern rail trail bike ride.

I was pleasantly surprised to secure two rooms at Meeniyan Motel at the last minute. the location is fantastic, just a stone's throw from shops and cafes. We enjoyed chatting in the garden area while the baby napped. Facilities were decent, though the bathroom felt a bit dated.

I had a bit of a mixed bag when I spent some time at this old motel. First off, the location is pretty sweet—right by the shops, and easy parking right at the front of the room. It's kinda handy if you want to grab a bite or some snacks without a hassle. Now, stepping into the room was a bit of a shock. On one hand, the sheets on the bed were clean, which was a relief. But man, when I first walked in, it felt like I had stepped into someone's old house. The bathroom was showing its age—shower temperature was a pain to deal with, flipping from scorching hot to ice cold in seconds. And let’s not even talk about the old food I found under the bed. Yikes! The management came through and sorted a few of the issues, which was nice of them, but the overall vibe felt off. I did appreciate their hot water bottles and extra blankets, though. They really helped when it got chilly at night. The kitchen area was surprisingly spacious with everything you might need, but I did wish they had provided some dishes or utensils. I mean, you can’t really enjoy a takeaway meal without those, right? It was funny how we had to eat our meals outside since there was no table in the room—just a small one that seemed more fit for smokers. On the plus side, those big windows were cute and let in a lot of light, except they didn’t come with proper curtains, so morning sunlight was brutally awakening. there was a garden out front that was well taken care of, which I can appreciate. I can’t say the room was the coziest; the damp smell lingered a bit, and the mattress felt lumpy. I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep because of it. I ended up using my electric blanket just to feel more comfortable! Housekeeping did pop in unexpectedly even when I put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, which was a bit unsettling. I think this place has potential, especially with the new management who seem genuinely invested in making improvements. They're friendly and super knowledgeable about the local area, which is nice. But until they tackle the cleaning, updating of the rooms, and some basic amenities like a decent dining setup and better heating elements, I’m not sure I’d rush back anytime soon.

A fab spot for picnics with tables galore, the outdoor vibe sets the scene for a chill feed with mates! Swing by Bread & Pickles for their cold buffet—absolute treasures! Plus, the room was neat and tidy, and the staff had a friendly, can-do attitude that makes you feel right at home.
