We were lucky to find this beautifully restored 50s property during our holiday. the location was perfect for breaking our trip between Strahan and Hobart. the park surrounding the Estate was well maintained and we even spotted wallabies grazing outside. the house itself was big and roomy, with tasteful art-deco decoration. the large, well-kept garden added to the charm. We enjoyed a pretty walk through the forest to Tarraleah Falls. the cafe nearby had friendly staff and there were plenty of animals to see. It was a peaceful and not overcrowded destination, even during peak season. the bathrooms were new with great water pressure and heat, and the water was delicious. We will definitely come back in winter to experience its beauty in the snow.

We had a massive surprise with a cottage that was as spacious as a house! The beautiful older interiors added charm, and the back view to the valley was delightful. We also enjoyed learning about the history. The Highlander Arms was a great place for casual relaxation, and check-in was simple with great communication. As a family, it was fantastic for chilling out, and the cow and duck feeding kept the boys happy.

We had a fantastic stay at Tarraleah Estate! The cabin was cozy and quiet, providing us with a peaceful escape. The communication with the staff was excellent and they were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The surrounding nature and hydro history display were also highlights. we highly recommend this hidden gem.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving and had a lovely time. the cabins were cozy and clean, with a well-stocked kitchenette and complimentary tea and coffee. We loved walking around the property and seeing the abundant wildlife, including wallabies and possums. Being surrounded by beautiful flowers and colorful cottages was a real treat, and the gas heater kept us warm and cozy.

The entrance to the property was a bit difficult to navigate, and our GPS initially took us to the wrong entrance. We would have appreciated clearer signage and directions.

We had a wonderful time staying here! The location in the forest was absolutely beautiful and allowed us to see some wildlife. The staff were extremely friendly and even provided us with a welcome drink upon arrival. They were also very helpful in arranging tours and tickets for activities like hiking and fishing. The room amenities were great and included everything we needed, from ironing facilities to tea and coffee supplies. We particularly enjoyed the garden furniture outside where we could relax in the sunshine. The flat-screen TV was perfect for a movie night, and the hotel restaurant provided us with a delicious and special diet-friendly dinner. The outdoor dining area and picnic tables added to the hotel's charming atmosphere.

The beautiful surroundings and abundance of nature made it a perfect getaway. The cabin facilities were excellent and the suggested walks provided in the room were a great help. The location was quiet and comfortable, and I can't wait to come back!

I wish the reception hours were longer as I couldn't speak to anyone during my stay. Also, I couldn't find the exact location of the pump pond for the platypus.

The lack of air conditioning in some rooms may be a drawback for guests seeking cooler temperatures during summer.

We had the pleasure of staying at a beautifully preserved Hydroelectric village, now known as Tarraleah Estate. the charming 50's atmosphere has been tastefully updated, making it feel like home. the accommodation was self-sufficient, neat, and comfortable. the village offers a range of facilities including a restaurant, cafe, and a visitor center. the friendly and helpful receptionist added to our enjoyable experience. We also had the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, with hiking trails right at our doorstep. It was a unique and peaceful stay, and we definitely plan on returning for another visit.
