I had a lovely stay! The cleanliness truly impressed me, especially for the price. The staff were absolutely amazing too! I'd DEFINITELY choose this place again, even better than the photos!

Let’s start with the good stuff. The location was pretty great—just a short stroll to Beachies Pub for dinner. I really enjoyed that part. It was handy to have that close by when we didn’t feel like cooking. Plus, I missed Toukley motel already after being back for a few days; it's truly become my go-to spot for a little escape. The caretakers, especially Teresa, were super friendly and nice, which definitely added some warmth to our stay. Now, about the room. It was clean, which is always a relief, but there were definitely things that needed a bit of TLC. For one, the air conditioning wasn’t working all that well. It took forever to cool down the room, and considering how hot it was during the day, that was a bit of a letdown. Oh, and the pillows? They were just uncomfortable. I woke up with a sore neck both mornings. The amenities were also kind of lacking. I was looking forward to a nice cup of tea after a long day at the beach, but there was no electric kettle in the room. They had the basics like cups and tea bags, but without the kettle, it just felt incomplete. I was hoping for free Wi-Fi, but it wasn’t great. I struggled to connect. I didn’t quite understand the layout of the place either. There was an outdoor kitchen in the back, which seemed strange to me for a motel. It looked like it hadn’t been tidied up in ages. Some people had set up permanent living arrangements there, which kind of gave me an odd vibe. I get that folks need a place to stay, but it felt a little chaotic. One major downside was the noise. I could hear people cooking just outside my unit, and it was distracting. I also noticed some cracked plaster in the bathroom and mould on the ceiling that really should be addressed. Definitely not the kind of thing you want to see when you're trying to relax. Another thing — the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, which felt pretty odd and uncomfortable. It was fixed in the subsequent unit I was moved to after reporting the issues. Speaking of the second unit, there was a leak by the bed that soaked the carpet, which wasn’t the best surprise when I woke up! They did try to put down some floor mats, but they got soaked super quickly. And I found it frustrating when coming back in the evening that my folks' room wasn’t cleaned because they claimed staff was unavailable. Who wants to chill in a filthy room after a long day? They literally just said they couldn’t clean it. Despite all this, I find myself wanting to give Toukley motel another go because of how inviting the staff was and the overall location. But if they want to keep folks like me coming back, they really need to address some of these maintenance issues and make an effort with the cleanliness.

the provided tea and coffee making facilities, along with three complimentary bottles of water and a delightful packet of chocolate biscuits, added a nice touch. I especially enjoyed sitting at the table outside my room, soaking in the atmosphere.

I did notice some minor negatives; there was rubbish under the bed, and the kettle still contained water from the previous guest.

the hotel was ideally located near shops and the lake, which made exploring very easy. our room was spacious, clean, and had all the necessary amenities like a fridge and microwave, which we found quite useful. we would definitely recommend this place for its comfort and excellent service.

What a lovely spot for a romantic getaway! The location is super convenient, just a stone’s throw from the beach and local eateries. Our room was really well-equipped with free, fast internet, a cozy lollie bowl, and all the coffee-making goodies we could ask for. We especially loved being tucked away at the back of the motel – it was peaceful and felt very private! The only hiccup we had was the air conditioning; it was a bit outdated and noisy.

Had a lovely overnight stay! 🌟 the best part was the super helpful manager who made everything feel easy. the room was clean and comfy, just what we needed. One downside was that the kitchen area felt small with 3 adults. a great spot!

I stayed here for a weekend getaway centered around cycling and was pleasantly surprised. the room offered more space than anticipated, complete with a fridge, air conditioning, and kitchen utensils. It was clean, and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. Located conveniently near restaurants, I could easily enjoy dinner without worrying about driving afterward.
