I just returned from a stay in beautiful Portland! The breakfast was surprisingly good, with scrambled eggs and pancakes – way better than typical continental options. I’d consider returning, despite the room cleanliness.

The hotel was easy to locate and conveniently situated near essential facilities. We enjoyed a cozy room and the welcoming atmosphere. Everything was within walking distance, including supermarkets and restaurants, making our stay very convenient. the check-in process was smooth, and overall, the experience was enjoyable.

I recently had a stay at this motel and, honestly, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to both the town center and the beach, which is a major plus. It was a spring mattress, and it felt ridiculously bouncy, which isn't what I’m used to for “comfortable. ” Some people might like it, but I found it a bit distracting, especially for a good night's sleep. Now, let’s talk about the air conditioning. Wow, it was loud, like really loud! I can handle a bit of noise, but this was a constant drone. Not the kind of ambiance I'm looking for when I want to relax. The bathroom fan had the same issue; it was set to automatically turn on with the light, so every time I needed to use the bathroom, it was like a mini jet engine revving up. On the practical side of things, the heating seemed decent when it worked, but when I switched it on, it squealed like a pig! And let’s not forget about the fridge situation. It was a mini-bar setup where the freezer didn’t work at all. I had these heat packs for my esky, and they were completely defrosted by the time I checked out. Super frustrating! Connectivity-wise, the WiFi was a total letdown. It was spotty at best, which made it challenging when I needed to look up some local spots to eat or things to do. It's a small thing, but in today's world, reliable internet is almost a necessity. The staff, though, they were really friendly and helpful. The gentleman at the reception didn’t instill much confidence initially—definitely not the most professional presentation or conversation—but he did manage to accommodate my room change request well when I mentioned the stairs were a bit much for me. The new room was supposedly a “better quality room,” and I give him kudos for being adaptable. As for cleanliness, well, I felt like they could amp up the spring cleaning effort. Some dust on the skirting boards and hidden areas stuck out a bit to me. The towels and bedding were clean, but it felt like they missed some of those little touches. The info book in the room was outdated, which confused me about the WiFi charges; so, what was it? Free or not? The front desk cleared that up later. Getting to my room wasn’t the easiest either—those stairs to the second floor were a workout! I also found it a bit noisy at night with people outside talking on their phones. That was a bit annoying, but, you know, not much the motel can do about that. To wrap it all up, while I think the motel has a lot of potential with its great location, it really needs to address a few things—especially the air conditioning, fridge issues, and some general cleanup. Felt like it had its quirks, and I might consider coming back if they worked on those areas!
