The "captain's quarters" room with a window across the water and views of the town. Quiet location during the week. Ducks visiting outside the window during dinner. Spectacular food and beer at the restaurant. Helpful and kind staff. Perfect location, within walking distance to the heart of the city. Easy access to touristy streets, chocolate shops, and a serene park.

This is an ideal place to stay while visiting! You can walk from the train station right to De Barge, luggage and all. The Barge itself is so quaint and strikingly authentic with perfect attention to detail in its decoration and upkeep. Our room was very comfortable with a well-dressed river barge atmosphere. The river boat charm is cozy, agreeable, and offers a soft intro into venturing about. Our stay included a complete breakfast in the morning. After venturing around, De Barge offers a cozy quiet, warm refuge and comfortable nights sleep. The atmosphere is outstanding!

The location of the hotel is very convenient, with the rail and bus stations nearby. It is also quite close to the center and all the attractions of the historic old town. The hotel is away from the busy Market but still provides an easy walk into the city from the canal. The rooms are small but well-designed, with enough storage space and comfortable beds. The bathrooms are spacious and the showers provide plenty of hot water. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing a map and all necessary information upon check-in. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of options, including meats, cheeses, eggs, bacon. Some rooms have beautiful views of the canal.

The hotel does not have a bar, which may be disappointing for some guests.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The buffet breakfast was good and had lots of options. The big windows in our room gave us a beautiful view of the river. The location was perfect; we could get to all the major attractions within a 15-minute walk.

The restaurant only allowed a maximum of four tables to be open, which was not enough. The bar only had four seats, making it difficult to get a drink.

The hotel is easy to find and has free parking available. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, with a great view over the water. The staff were courteous and helpful. The included breakfast was delicious, with a range of continental and English options. The hotel was quiet, with only the sounds of waterfowl and canal vessels. Access to nearby attractions like Ypres was easy.

During our stay at Boat Hotel De Barge, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received upon arrival. Despite arriving before check-in time, the receptionist kindly stored our luggage and even provided us with money-off vouchers for local attractions. The room itself was beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed and a lovely view of ducks swimming outside the window. We also thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which offered a delicious variety of options.

Located on the canal, this hotel has lovely rooms with large windows that can be opened to let in fresh air and a view of ducks swimming by. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of options. We had an amazing stay at the Boat Hotel De Barge! The decor was lovely and the breakfast buffet was fantastic with a wide selection. The staff were efficient and friendly, and the location was great, within walking distance to the center. The barge experience was unique and enjoyable.

As a leisure traveler staying at Boat Hotel De Barge for three nights, I was delighted with the unique experience of being on a barge. The location on the canal offered beautiful views of passing wildlife and was conveniently close to the P&O coach. I enjoyed starting my day with the decent breakfast and appreciated the bonus of free wifi. The comfortable beds, nautical decor, and warm, quiet rooms made for a pleasant stay. Lastly, the ability to have a beer while waiting to check in added to the overall enjoyable experience.

Loved the unique atmosphere of staying on a boat, it was such a fun and different experience! The room was surprisingly comfortable and cozy, with a lovely view of the water and ducks swimming by.- Great location, just a short walk from the train station, making it easy to explore the city.

Breakfast could have had a bit more variety, but still good enough to start the day. The hotel was not right in the heart of the city, but still close enough to enjoy all the attractions.
