I just had an incredible stay at Lower Dover! the property is truly unique with beautiful bungalows and immaculate facilities. the highlight of my trip was the warm and welcoming hospitality from Maddy, the host. She was like a mother to all the guests, arranging sightseeing tours and ensuring we had the best experiences. I enjoyed the ATM Cave tour and horseback riding to Xunantunich, both organized by Maddy. the property even has its own Mayan ruins to explore. the location was perfect, close to amazing tours and an easy bus ride to San Ignacio. I also loved meeting fascinating guests and trying the delicious wine made by Maddy's son. Highly recommended for a memorable stay in the jungle!

We had an amazing time staying at Lower Dover Jungle Lodge & Maya Ruins. the budget hostel was located in the middle of a vibrant jungle, offering a unique experience with first-world comforts. the colourful and bright house where we stayed had a charming porch where we could relax and enjoy a cold beer after a day of activities. the clean and spacious dorm rooms provided a comfortable stay, equipped with plenty of fans to combat the heat. the bathroom facilities were also well-maintained. We were impressed by the cleanliness and tidiness in the midst of the jungle. Maddy, the owner, was a true legend. As a die-hard Cubs fan, she was not only helpful but also incredibly knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to assist us in any way possible. the food prepared by Maddy and her staff was delicious, making our trip to the Cayo District even more enjoyable. We simply can't put into words how much we loved this hostel.

The Maya ruins on the property were a highlight of our trip. Maddie, the owner, gave an informative tour and brought the ruins to life. the solar showers were excellent, the food was delicious, and the rooms were comfortable. Maddie was super helpful, giving us recommendations and even a free upgrade. We loved the screened hammock area in our room. a fantastic experience that we would definitely recommend!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner, Maddy, was so helpful and accommodating. She even arranged for me to have the best experiences at the local sights, ensuring I had a memorable and uncrowded visit. And I can't forget to mention the amazing Mayan ruins on the property that you can freely explore. Plus, Maddy's two snake hunting dogs made me feel safe and adventurous during my jungle walks. The location was convenient, with an easy and cheap bus ride to San Ignacio, where I got to experience the local way of life. The other guests staying at Lower Dover were fascinating, and I learned so much from them. Last but not least, the wine from Justin's winery was absolutely delicious! I had an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

The property is beautiful and the cabanas were clean and comfortable. We loved exploring the hiking trails and swimming in the river. the communal meals were a highlight, as we got to meet travelers from all over the world. Maddie and her family were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They even gave us helpful suggestions for local activities that we would have missed otherwise. the homemade hibiscus wine was a delightful treat. our experience at Lower Dover was a perfect 10/10!

My 3 night stay at this jungle lodge was absolutely mind-blowing! The property was stunning, with immaculate bungalows, beds, bathrooms, and showers. The food offerings were delicious and the host, Maddy, was amazing. She arranged sightseeing tours and made sure we had the best experience possible, even arranging for us to be the first ones at the sites to avoid crowds. The activities offered, like the ATM Cave and horseback riding, were absolutely jaw-dropping. I also loved that the property had its own Mayan ruins to explore and that Maddy sent me off with her two incredible snake-hunting dogs for added confidence. The location was perfect, with an easy and cheap bus ride to nearby San Ignacio, where I got to experience the local way of life. The other guests were fascinating, and I learned so much from conservationists, aviary specialists, and archeologists. Finally, Maddy's son Justin runs a winery on the property and the wines were absolutely amazing. my stay at this jungle lodge was beyond amazing and I couldn't recommend it enough!
