I had an amazing stay at this hostel. the location is amazing, just a short walk from the beach and the metro station. the staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel like part of the family. They were knowledgeable about the city and the carnival festivities. the hostel had a great social atmosphere, with daily free caipirinhas and organized social outings. the rooms were clean and comfortable, with lockers under the beds. the breakfast was basic but a good deal for the price. I highly recommend Che Lagarto Hostel for a budget-friendly and social experience in Rio.

The location is amazing, as it is very close to Ipanema beach. I could easily walk to the beach and enjoy the beautiful views. Additionally, the hotel facilities were impressive. The beds and storage were made of metal and wood, giving a sense of stability and safety. The bathrooms were also good, and each room had its own chip-card for access, which made me feel secure. Moreover, the staff were exceptional. They were friendly and helpful, always taking the time to greet and chat with me. They even provided informative tips on things to do and places to visit.

They were always available to assist with any questions or help book tours or airport transfers. the location was also fantastic, with supermarkets, restaurants, and the metro station nearby. the free caipirinhas during the "happy half hour" were a nice touch and created a fun and social atmosphere.

Very sociable atmosphere, with free drinks in the evenings that made it easy to meet other travelers. Helpful staff who provided assistance and information on transportation. Excellent location near the beach and easy access to central areas once you figure out the buses.

Some inconvenience due to ongoing painting and redecorating, resulting in areas being out of bounds and the need to change rooms. Lack of soap in the bathroom, which was an inconvenience for basic hygiene.

We had a fantastic stay at Che Lagarto Hostel! the location was great, just a short walk from the beach and with açaí shops nearby. the staff were amazing, always friendly and helpful, and they kept the whole place clean. We especially liked that our room was in a separate building across the street from the reception because it was quieter at night. the bar was a fun place to meet people, and the free drinks were a nice bonus. the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Highly recommended!
