We had a fantastic stay at Char's! the room in this converted church was simple, clean, and comfortable. We loved the unique atmosphere and the chic gallery and function room upstairs. Despite there being a private function taking place, the music and dancing added to the experience rather than being disruptive. Char was welcoming and accommodating, especially considering we arrived after a major snowstorm. the location was perfect for exploring the area, with attractions like Tofino, Cathedral Grove, and the West Coast Trail nearby. We will definitely be back in the summer!

We loved chatting with the musicians who were also guests at the hostel and listening to their performances in the bar upstairs. the location was very central, making it easy to explore the city.

I had a great stay at Char's Landing. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. The location was perfect for exploring the area of Port Alberni. There were several breakfast places nearby, so I had plenty of options for starting my day off right. We stayed in a room with bunk beds and a private bathroom, perfect for accommodating everyone. The kitchen was conveniently located, and despite having neighbors, we didn't feel disturbed. The hostel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Plus, Char was friendly and accommodating towards our furry friend. We even ran into her a couple of times, and she made us feel welcome. Despite the lack of air conditioning, the fans provided relief, and the lower-level location kept the room cooler overnight. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience and will definitely return in the future. Thank you, Char!

While the locks on the door required a lot of typing and made beeping noises that were audible through other doors, switching to simple keys or cards would be a more convenient option. Additionally, having air conditioning would have been a bonus, although it was not a major issue for me.

char's landing was a delightful surprise during our short break in port alberni. as senior seniors, we weren't sure what to expect from a hostel, but char has created a welcoming and comfortable space for travelers. we met fascinating people from around the world and enjoyed the cozy common areas and free internet.
