The Standard Double Room was modern and comfortable, with a soft bed. The room and the entire hotel were very clean, and I enjoyed a nice view of the city. The location was convenient, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and it was just a short walk to Tianfu Square and the metro. The staff was incredibly helpful, always ready to assist, and I had no trouble getting a taxi to the airport even at 4.30am. a great hotel with excellent service.

During my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Gulou Chengdu, I had a surprisingly close proximity to the city center at a reasonable price. Additionally, the hotel's location was a pleasant surprise as it was just a short stroll away from a new shopping center complex and the main pedestrian street, making it incredibly convenient for exploration. The staff at check-in were polite and helpful, providing me with all the necessary information for visiting the Panda Research Centre and other tourist sites. Although I wasn't a fan of spicy food, the hotel restaurant offered a great range of inexpensive non-spicy options in the evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chengdu.

The hotel had a great breakfast with a variety of options like noodles, steamed buns, and fruit. the room layout was standard but the bathroom had a spacious walk-in shower which was a plus. the hotel's staff was very friendly and helpful, especially with language barriers. They went above and beyond to assist us with questions and even helped us resolve an issue with our visas.

There were several negative aspects of our stay. the communication at the reception was a bit poor in English.
