This was one of the best hotel experiences ever. The location couldn’t have been better - not only was it in walking distance to all major historic sights, it was a historic building itself, in an area of courtyard homes that used to be part of the Forbidden City. The atmosphere of the building was excellent and it was well-maintained. It is close to a river, several parks, and has a major shopping street nearby. The staff were exceedingly friendly and accommodating and the property was impeccably clean. We felt truly welcome and were sad to leave our home in Beijing when it was time to go.
