We had a great stay at this hostel. the owner was superb and provided genuine and helpful advice. We loved the family feel of the place and didn't feel like just a number. the location was superb and offered great value for money. We appreciated the availability of free refill water and the delicious coffee and tea they provided. We even got a free night when we booked the lost city tour through the hostel. It was also nice that we could keep our bags for free.

We had an amazing experience at a hostel in Santa Marta. the staff at Hostal Espanolete were some of the kindest, most generous, and helpful people we've ever met during our travels in South America. They took care of us when we got sick and made us feel like part of their family. the rooms were clean and comfortable, with great air-conditioning. the location was ideal, not too noisy but within walking distance of the center and the beach. the hostel also provided soap and towels, which was a nice touch. they gave us excellent advice for planning our trips to places like Minca, Tyrona National Park, and the Lost City Trek.

The owner is an amazing guy, always ready to help with everything for a great stay. Best hostel in town, with the most comfortable beds on our trip. Toni and his wife warmly welcomed us, gave great advice on the city and surroundings. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with AC and free wifi. The owners go above and beyond to ensure a clean and comfortable stay, with more than twice-daily cleaning of the bathrooms. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, willing to assist with anything from taxi calls to storing valuables. They provide a little breakfast as a courtesy and offer directions, recommendations, and safety tips. The hostel offers a range of amenities, including cookware, a shared kitchen, laundry facilities, picnic areas, a TV room. Guests can also enjoy access to hiking, fishing, snorkeling, diving, and the beach. Luggage storage is available, and there is a paid airport shuttle service. The hostel has 24-hour reception and security, and smoking is not allowed on-site.

The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with great suggestions for places to visit. They even made us coffee in the morning, which was a nice touch. We also appreciated the option to refill our water on site at a low cost, as it helped reduce plastic waste.

The bathrooms in the hotel were quite small and didn't have any dry space to keep our clean clothes, so we had to put them on the floor. the water pressure in the showers was quite low, which made it a bit difficult to wash.

The location was perfect, just two blocks away from the major trek agencies for Ciudad Perdida. The beds were clean and comfortable, offering great value for the price.

I recently stayed at this cozy hostel for 7 days. The owners and staff were incredibly hospitable, creating a welcoming atmosphere that felt like home. We stayed at Hostal Espanolete in a perfect location for our trip. It was convenient for finding nearby food and only a short walk to the market where we could catch a bus to Tayrona Park. We felt right at home with the delicious and affordable breakfast, safe storage for our bags, clean facilities, strong wifi, and air conditioning in every bedroom. The knowledgeable and multilingual staff made our experience even better. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing experience staying at this hostel. the owner went above and beyond to ensure our safety, even following us home late at night. Both the dorms and private rooms were clean and comfortable. the beds were cozy, and there was AC to keep us cool. the kitchen was also nice and well-equipped. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Loved the 24-hour front desk, they were always there to assist me. The terrace had a charming view of the garden, perfect for me to sip my tea.

The restaurant was a bit too casual for my refined taste.

The location of the hostel is great, right in the center of town, with plenty of restaurants nearby and close to the historic center and the sea. The owner is super helpful and gives wonderful tips about what to do in the area. The dorm rooms are nice, with towels, soap, aircon, and a bathroom.

The hostel lacks social atmosphere, making it not ideal for those who want to meet other travelers.

The mattress in my room was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. the water pressure in the shower was quite low, making it difficult to properly rinse off.
