We had a fantastic time at Portal De La Marquesa! The room was spacious, clean, and had a private plunge pool which was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location by the river was stunning. We loved the delicious and varied breakfasts, and the colonial beauty of the interior. We felt like family during our week-long stay.

The location of the hotel was excellent. It was situated right on the malecon, offering a beautiful view of the Magdalena river. Despite its proximity to the waterfront, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, providing a peaceful retreat from the noisy nightly street parties. it was conveniently located halfway on the walkway between all the main sites, making it easy to explore the town.

That there was no pool available for guests to cool off in the afternoon heat.

The charming Spanish colonial mansion has been tastefully restored and offers a range of amenities to keep both parents and children entertained. The free WiFi kept our tech-savvy kids happy, while the year-round outdoor pool was a hit for some splashing fun. We enjoyed cozying up in front of the flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a DVD player, perfect for family movie nights after a long day of exploring.

For dads, it would be great if the hotel had a designated play area for children.

This place is absolutely mind-blowing! The building is stunning with incredible communal spaces and huge, jaw-dropping rooms. The staff made me feel like family, especially Margarita who treated us like her own. The suite was super stylish and great value, with its own garden and plunge pool. I can't wait to come back one day!

Wifi was spotty.

With its convenient location close to the town centre, guests can easily explore the local attractions. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious, providing a great start to the day. Additionally, the common areas have a cool vibe, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.

The house is amazing, beautiful, and comfortable. Perfectly located by the river and in a nice part of town. Staff are professional, friendly, and always helpful. The breakfast is awesome, and the atmosphere is timeless and relaxing. Perfect for a 2 to 3 night stay to chill and enjoy Mompox.

Felt spoilt, but no reason to complain.

This Xmas, my family and I stayed in a beautifully restored colonial mansion with huge rooms and everything we needed. Breakfast was prepared in a lovely patio with all guests sharing the same table, making it easy to talk to fellow travelers. the location was key, with a view of the river and just around the corner from the main street. One highlight was the friendly and helpful staff who really made our stay memorable. Plus, they offered two complimentary activities, adding great value to our experience.

The staffer who told us that our trip to the next city would cost 50,000 pesos, ended up being triple the price, which was quite shocking. Perhaps if there were more information written down in English, we wouldn’t have had this issue.

Margherita’s coconut pancakes were fantastic, spacious and comfortable lounge area, friendly staff, huge room and bathroom.

We didn't have the chance to try the breakfast, but it looked amazing. The hotel truly exceeded our expectations.
