I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hidden gem in the hills of Monteverde - a beautiful retreat called El Sol. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning views that surrounded me. The tranquility of the hillside location was simply unmatched, allowing me to unwind and soak in the breathtaking valley scenery.

Although there were minor inconveniences, such as mosquitoes at night and limited lighting in the villa, they did not overshadow the overall amazing stay at El Sol. The location, breathtaking views, and cozy cabin made it all worthwhile.

The location of this hotel is breathtaking, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The room was comfortable, well-equipped and had a beautiful design. The staff were helpful and friendly, providing suggestions for activities and making arrangements for transportation. The breakfast served at the hotel was delicious, offering a taste of local cuisine. this hotel provided a serene and peaceful atmosphere to relax in.

The hotel only accepted cash payments, which can be inconvenient for travelers who prefer to use credit cards.

That the location was a short drive away from bars and restaurants, so walking wasn't an option.

The pool was lovely, but unfortunately, I couldn't dive in and swim with the geckos. They seemed to have claimed it as their territory. So kind of them.

the pool area was quite small and didn't have any beds, which would have been nice to have for ultimate relaxation. the cabin we stayed in had a long stone path from the parking area, making it difficult to carry our heavy luggage.

El Sol Monteverde was a unique and special place to stay.

The service provided by Javier and Susanne was exceptional, they were incredibly helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, allowing us to enjoy the peacefulness of nature while still being close to the town of Santa Elena for restaurants and tours. We would highly recommend staying here.
