The location of the hotel was ideal as it was close to popular nature excursions and town activities. However, the noise from trucks on the small road leading to the tipi area was unbearable, making it difficult to sleep. The view of the beach was beautiful, but the rooms were poorly maintained with dirty bathrooms that did not have warm water. The breakfast was basic, and the service was slow, with unfriendly staff. On a positive note, the pool was a refreshing escape from the heat and perfect for meeting new people.

Regrettably, the price did not reflect the poor quality of the facilities, which are not worth their cost and offered little comfort.

my recent stay at a cute little cabin/teepee hut in puerto viejo was great! Selina exceeded my expectations with their helpful staff, organizing bikes, laundry, and transfers. The shower block and kitchen were totally fine. The food options for breakfast were plentiful and the hostel had a nice pool. Highly recommend for solo travelers!

bike troubles

Our stay at Selina was incredible. We were lucky enough to have a 6-room dorm to ourselves most nights due to the strikes in Costa Rica. The staff was friendly and the property was clean enough. Despite the rainy weather, we enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean and wildlife. The restaurant and bar offered delicious food and cocktails, and we even had the opportunity to take dance lessons. I highly recommend this hotel.

As a solo traveler, I loved the awesome vibe and events at Selina Puerto Viejo. The live music, dancing classes, and parties made my stay super fun.

Felt spoilt, no reason to complain.

This hotel is great for solo travelers as they have everything you need, like bikes and surfboards. Also, it's located right on the beautiful and deserted beach where you can swim and relax. From reviews: "The room was super clean and the bed extremely comfortable – I stayed in one of the micro rooms." With the breakfast plan, the restaurant crew were 120% for opening on time and getting the coffee ready.

We really got great value for our money at Selina in Puerto Viejo. The room was cozy and had cool interior and exterior design. We loved having breakfast on our porch. The location was perfect, with a peaceful atmosphere, away from the noise of the pool party. The staff went above and beyond to make us happy, and the yoga deck and coworking space were convenient amenities.
