The Shawandha Lodge provided a truly delightful stay for seniors like me. The hotel's decoration was charming, with an artistic fusion of hardwoods, bamboo, and palm that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The open living room was a perfect place to relax, with comfortable seating and a sliding door that overlooked the beautiful pool and garden. It was accessible and easy to navigate, making it ideal for seniors to enjoy their vacation without any difficulties.

I wished the children working there could have provided more assistance and guidance specifically tailored for seniors.

We got great value for our money at Shawandha Lodge. The room was beautiful and cozy, and the location was perfect, surrounded by the unique vegetation of the rainforest and just a short walk to the stunning Playa Chiquita. The staff treated us incredibly well, providing a warm welcome and always going out of their way to help.

The breakfast offerings could be improved with more variety and fresher ingredients.

For our recent vacation in Puerto Viejo, we stayed at Shawandha, a beautiful property nestled in the jungle just steps away from the beach and town. The jungle setting provided a unique and special experience, with daily sightings of toucans, howler monkeys, and other wildlife. The comfortable and clean room, along with the friendly hotel staff, made our stay even more enjoyable. The delicious food at the restaurant and the refreshing pool were added bonuses to our wonderful time at Shawandha.

Attentive and friendly reception, great location close to the beach. Room upgrade was excellent. Delicious and plenty breakfast, nice sitting areas on the property. Beautiful tropical setting, spacious bungalows with lovely porch and hammock. Saw wildlife, good wifi, safe and secure. Nice complimentary breakfast, amazing dinner menu with vegetarian options. Well-kept grounds and beautiful pool area. Rustic dark sand beach nearby.

I had an amazing stay at a hidden gem in a beautiful location. The bungalows were spacious and comfortable, surrounded by lush gardens. I loved waking up to the sounds of nature and spotting wildlife. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly. The private path to the stunning beach was a bonus and the snorkeling was great. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable vacation.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and the location was excellent. The gardens were wonderful and it was a short walk to the beach. The little cabin was quaint, and generally the resort offered an immersion in nature. The bar and restaurant service was great, and the breakfast every morning was very good. The hotel was a great starting point to access Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, and Manzanillo. The property was clean and well maintained. The staff helped us schedule great excursions and rent bikes to explore the area. The surroundings and grounds were kept lovely and the pool area was beautiful. The rustic dark sand beach was right opposite the hotel, really nice to walk down.

The location of the hotel was great - close to the beach, market, and restaurants. We also enjoyed the outdoor areas and the beautiful grounds. the breakfast at the hotel was delicious and we loved the water fountain. the hotel was conveniently located near the Jaguar Rescue Centre and other attractions in the area.

We were disappointed with the room. It was poorly equipped with only the most necessary items, such as a bed and a small table.

The lodge is beautifully located in a dense forest, offering a unique and immersive jungle experience. The houses are open, allowing you to live and sleep surrounded by nature. The beach is easily accessible and just a short walk away. The staff is helpful and professional, providing excellent service. The breakfast is tasty and plentiful.
