I stayed at Hotel De L'Univers during my recent trip to a charming coastal city. The hotel is ideally located, making it easy to explore the area and visit nearby attractions. The hotel's exterior and bar/terrace area provided a lovely atmosphere to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Although there were a couple of minor inconveniences, such as the unreliable coffee machine during breakfast and the occasional noise from the corridors, they didn't significantly impact my overall experience.

The hotel is conveniently located right at the main square in the historic old town, surrounded by a variety of excellent restaurants and creperies. It is also within walking distance of all the sights we wanted to see. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a bathroom that had plenty of space. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was efficient.

The walls and doors of the hotel structure were quite thin, so there was some noise from the traffic in the corridors during the night.

This budget hotel is conveniently located near the town center and just outside the old city walls. The breakfast is continental, and there is a popular bar on-site that serves drinks and nibbles throughout the day. it's a great choice for those keeping to a budget and wanting a central location.

Some guests have mentioned that the beds in certain rooms were not comfortable, possibly due to sagging.

We decided to stay in a hotel right in the center of events, close to the main attractions. We were delighted to find a cozy hotel in a pretty square within the walls of the old town. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Despite the disappointing breakfast, we could easily find alternatives in nearby cafes. The hotel's location allowed us to explore the charming city effortlessly.

We were unlucky with the bed in our room, as it was sagging and uncomfortable.

I had a great stay at a hotel in Saint-Malo. the room at De L'Univers was a perfect size and had a large bathroom with hot water. the facilities were just as I expected. the staff were friendly and efficient, and I appreciated the courtesy call reminding me of check-out time. the location was central and there was a great outdoor area for drinks. it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Perfect location inside the ramparts, with parking nearby. Very welcoming staff, pet-friendly, and a jolly bar. Highly recommended.

I recently stayed at Hotel De L'Univers for one night in the beautiful Intra Muros area. The location was perfect, right at the entrance of the old town. The hotel had a charming, old-style feel and my room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly, English speaking, and provided excellent service. The breakfast was pleasant and the bar was a great place to unwind. I can't wait to return with my friend Suzie.

This hotel is conveniently situated within the city walls, in a lively café area. You'll be in the heart of the action, surrounded by charming shops and just a short walk away from the beach. The value for money here is excellent, especially considering the location. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure your needs are met throughout your stay. The rooms are basic but comfortable, with some even featuring a medieval fireplace, adding a touch of charm to your experience. One of the highlights is the castle view from certain rooms, allowing you to truly feel immersed in the city's history. Additionally, the breakfast is served at a reasonable time, starting at 08.30.

I recently spent Christmas at a hotel right in the heart of the city. the location couldn't have been better, as it was right in the main square with easy access to shops, restaurants, and beautiful views. the hotel had a great terrace where I could enjoy drinks and the excellent coffee they served. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the lively atmosphere of the city.

There were a few things that didn't meet my expectations. the room I stayed in was quite small and dark, which made it feel a bit cramped.

The staff were accommodating when we requested a quieter room. Limited room options were available. Staff were attentive and friendly. Convenient location with many nearby restaurants. Continental breakfast was good, with quality coffee and pastries.

Staff very polite and friendly, location was spot on, and the wi-fi was good. We were offered two complimentary drinks on arrival and the Christmas decorations in the town were beautiful.

The lifts were very small and claustrophobic, and there was a constant smell of cigarettes in our non-smoking room. the windows were not double glazed, so we had a lot of noise coming in from outside and had a bad night's sleep.

Great value for money

Stayed at the hotel for a weekend in November. Although we booked a non-smoking room, we noticed one of the staff members smoking a cigar in the dining area, which caused a slight smell of smoke in our room. The free wifi was a bit difficult to connect to, and the pillows provided were quite small. However, the location of the hotel was excellent, despite being a bit noisy due to its proximity to the main area at the gates. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was satisfactory. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast for €10. Considering the price and the fact that it is located inside the walls of intra muros, I'm not sure if you would find a better hotel option.
