I was initially disappointed by the lack of heating in my room at La Porte Rouge, but the friendly owners and perfect location made up for it. The secured parking was a huge plus. The house may be a bit messy and rustic, but it exudes charm and a unique atmosphere. I loved waking up feeling like I was in the 17th century. The owners, Monique and Jimmy, have filled the house with beautiful things, reflecting their love for history and art. Despite the lack of en-suite bathrooms in all rooms, they mentioned plans of adding another one in the future. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom layout was impractical, but the views from my room and the warm welcome from the host made up for it. I would highly recommend this special and unforgettable place. Overall I highly recommend this hotel.
