The hotel is conveniently located down the road to the old railway station, providing easy access to more dining options. It is also close to Freiburg, making it a great base for exploring the city. Surrounded by the forest, the hotel offers a peaceful and serene environment. The rooms are pleasant, clean, and quiet, with a typical Black Forest style. The bathrooms are well-equipped, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, offering a wide variety of German specialties.

Great countryside hotel with helpful staff. Our New Year stay was relaxing and comfortable, with a large room that had comfortable beds, lots of hot water, and great natural touches like a patio garden. the extensive breakfast was a real plus, with tasty ham, cheese, bacon, and eggs, and excellent coffee. We also enjoyed the proximity to the Black Forest, with its beautiful hiking trails and natural wonders.

Though the hotel had many charming amenities, we found the language barrier difficult at times with limited English spoken by the staff. We also would have liked to have seen the linens upgraded to 100% cotton for a more luxurious feel.

This hotel in the Black Forest is a hidden gem. The rooms are beautifully designed, combining the charm of a rustic hut with modern comforts. I loved the attention to detail, especially the rooms with attached gardens, where you can enjoy a cup of herbal tea in the sunshine. The breakfast spread is extensive, with plenty of fresh and tasty options to start your day off right. And the location is perfect - nestled in the forest, but still close to Freiburg and the old railway station down the road.
