The hotel is conveniently located in a calm area, just across the river from the old town. It offers a great view of the Cologne cathedral, which is only a short walk away. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast is delicious and served with flexibility, accommodating guests' schedules.

The size of the rooms and bathrooms can be a bit small for two people, resembling more of a hostel than a hotel.

The owners were very accommodating and offered great local knowledge of the area. the rooms were comfortable and spotless, even during freezing temperatures. Breakfast was included and offered a good selection with a personal touch. the location was perfect for visiting key attractions and restaurants.

The rooms and bathrooms were a bit small, more akin to a hostel than a hotel. Not having a kettle in the room was a downside.

I came for a business conference and the location was awesome, only 5 minutes walking. The owner is an amazing person, very welcoming, super kind and happy to help. The beds were extremely comfortable, the hotel was spotless and warm. The breakfast had a good selection with a personal touch. Great location, quiet street, not luxurious but very comfortable. The owners were warm, friendly, and helpful. Definitely would stay here again.

Totally recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Merlin Garni. The location was perfect for my needs, and the owners, Lutz and his wife, were incredibly friendly and kind. They provided me with useful tips and advice during my visit. The beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and convenient stay in Cologne.
