The rooms are clean and comfortable, with outdoor showers adding a unique touch to the experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel like part of the family. The restaurant serves delicious food, with a variety of cuisines to choose from. The hostel also has a pool and bar, providing plenty of entertainment options for guests.

Our family had an incredible stay in El Paredon, a hidden gem on the wild Pacific coast of Guatemala. The Driftwood Surfer hostel was the perfect place for us to enjoy our vacation. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, organizing fun activities and ensuring our energy and positive attitudes were always at their peak. From participating in sea turtle releases to playing volleyball games, there was never a dull moment. And when it comes to surfing, the hostel offers fantastic lessons for beginners like us, as well as challenges for experienced surfers. We also loved the inclusive family dinner each night, which gave us a homely feel and delicious, high-quality food. Our time here promises cherished memories and endless exploration opportunities!

My children wanted a more spacious room, especially with a larger family like ours. The dorm rooms at The Driftwood Surfer can feel a bit cramped, accommodating over 20 people in one space separated by walls.

Had an amazing time at this beachfront hostel! The private room was clean and comfortable, and the shared bathrooms had awesome showers. The inclusive family dinners with different themed cuisines every night were a highlight. The staff, especially Rusty, T, BJ, and Brian. The after-dinner activities like beer olympics and trivia were so much fun. And of course, the surf lessons and rentals made for a great time at the beach. Highly recommend!

While the hostel had a great party atmosphere, it felt like the main focus was on encouraging guests to drink excessively. Some volunteer staff members were rude and intoxicated, and there were issues with the reservation and management systems.
