The River Hotel in Hella exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The common areas were gorgeous and provided ample seating for socializing. The hot tub and sauna with river views were amazing. The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding, and the breakfast was worth every penny.

The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. We were able to enjoy an early breakfast at 7am as requested, which allowed us to start our day exploring the Golden Circle and Southern Iceland. They even provided us with a thermos for hot tea/coffee and baggies for packing our lunch, which was incredibly convenient. Additionally, the location of the hotel was fantastic, serving as a great base for our adventures.

I loved the warm, welcoming vibe of this hotel. the staff went out of their way to make me feel at home, even giving me a tour of the property when I arrived. the coffee and tea available 24/7 was a great perk, and the complimentary thermos for road trips was a thoughtful touch. the location was perfect, with stunning views of the river and mountains in the distance. Plus, the underfloor heating was a dream!

We chose River Hotel as our base to explore South Iceland and it was the perfect choice. The hotel is conveniently located near the Golden Circle and just off the main road. Our room was exactly as pictured and spotlessly clean. The staff, particularly the friendly and informative Thai sisters, made our stay even better. We loved the outdoor hot tub, even though we couldn't use it due to a storm. The 24-hour pantry with snacks and hot drinks was a nice touch. The varied breakfast spread was delicious and the staff even allowed us to make sandwiches for our day trips.
