The owners and volunteers were incredibly helpful and welcoming, paying attention to every detail to make our stay special. The breakfast was delicious, and the hot tub was a perfect way to relax. Even though it was cloudy during our stay, I can imagine how amazing it must be to watch the northern lights from the warm water. We highly recommend a stay here, even in winter!

The room was cozy and clean, and the shared bathrooms were spotless. The staff was attentive and helpful, giving us a tour of the facilities upon arrival. The breakfast included in the price was delicious and had a great variety of options. The hot tub overlooking the fjord was a definite highlight, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

That the building had a layout that resembled an old hospital or a children's playhouse, which was a bit confusing.

We had great value for our money at this bright and comfortable guesthouse. The location was perfect, just a short drive away from town, and the staff were helpful and pleasant throughout our stay.

More breakfast choices would have been great.

We had an amazing time staying at the Skjaldarvik Guesthouse in beautiful Akureyri! The hotel had a cozy and stylish atmosphere, with well-furnished rooms that provided a quiet and comfortable stay. The highlight for us was the magical hot tub experience, with breathtaking views of the fjord and the moon shining above. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, offering a wide range of tasty options including local cheeses, fish roe, and homemade cakes and marmalades. The extra touches such as bathrobes for the hot tub, free coffee and tea in the lounge, and waking us up for a chance to see the Northern Lights made our stay even more special. We also loved the artistic decorations inspired by Icelandic novels and the opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow guests in the lounge. We can't wait to return and make use of the hot tub again!

The surrounding nature is breathtaking and perfect for outdoor activities. Cons: Well, I guess the only downside was when a seagull stole my sandwich. Who knew they were such opportunistic thieves?
