The location is excellent, tucked away in a quiet and serene environment. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms, although small, have a useful sink. The shared bathroom and shower facilities are relatively clean. The breakfast offers a good selection of international dishes, including a special homemade lamb pate.

We had a great time at this beautiful lakefront guesthouse. The setting was perfect for our family with 2 small kids. We enjoyed using the canoes on the lake and the kids had a blast. The trout dinner was delicious and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. We loved taking walks up the hill and watching the dogs round up stray sheep. It was also a convenient location for exploring Myvatn and Husavik, less than half an hour away.

The recently renovated rooms were absolutely spectacular. the beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed, and cozy duvet made for a truly relaxing stay. the dark curtains were a bonus, as they blocked out the midnight sun, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. the location of the guesthouse was also fantastic, with a beautiful view overlooking a lake and plenty of wildlife to admire. Additionally, the warm and friendly owners were extremely accommodating, allowing us to use their microwave and kitchen facilities.

One small downside was the shared bathroom, which included shared shower stalls, similar to swimming pools. Another minor inconvenience was the lack of soundproofing, as noise from neighboring rooms could be easily heard.

vestmannsvatn guesthouse in athaldalur was the perfect base for our honeymoon in iceland. the beautiful setting on the lake, cozy rooms, and fast communication with the owner exceeded our expectations. we loved using the canoes and enjoying the delicious trout dinner. breakfast was amazing too!

During my recent stay at Vestmannsvatn Guesthouse, I had the most amazing time exploring the beautiful surroundings. The location of the guesthouse, nestled in the valley in front of a picturesque lake, offered breathtaking views and a sense of tranquility. The spotlessly clean and well-maintained rooms, although a bit small and close to each other, provided comfortable accommodations. The shared bathrooms were impeccably clean and modern. I also appreciated the availability of parking, making it convenient for guests with cars. Additionally, the friendly and helpful owners made my stay even more enjoyable. I had a fantastic experience at Vestmannsvatn Guesthouse and would definitely recommend it to others.

Hot tub with stunning views. Great value, rural but convenient for local attractions.

I stayed at this guesthouse for 2 nights to explore the beautiful lakeside location and nearby attractions. The hospitality was incredible, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the lake from the guesthouse was stunning, and I enjoyed meals at the on-site restaurant, especially the delicious fish. The European breakfast was also large and satisfying. I appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea, biscuits, and fruit throughout the day, as well as the opportunity to go canoeing on the lake. The guesthouse may not be fancy, but everything was in working order, and the overall experience was fabulous.

Would definitely recommend this hotel.
