we had a fantastic time at Hornbill Camp. amritara was an oasis of tranquility, offering a chance to immerse ourselves in nature. the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing top-notch service. we enjoyed kayaking in the early mornings and biking through the picturesque surroundings. the food was delicious, with a homely touch, and our glamping tents provided a comfortable retreat with lovely river views from our private porch.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel! The location, right next to the Periyar river, was absolutely breathtaking. I could sit and enjoy the peaceful views for hours. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The service was top-notch, with room service available and the option to hire a car or use the airport shuttle. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities I needed, including air conditioning and a sitting area. The hotel also offered various leisure activities such as hiking and canoeing, which made my stay even more enjoyable.

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

A special place

What a lovely place! My husband and I were on a holiday to relax and get close to nature and that is exactly what we got here. The camp is right on the edge of the river with the bird sanctuary on the other side of it. The tent was lovely and comfortable with attached toilets and even A/C. The food was great and the staff, amazing. We were there for two nights in the off season so our expectations were managed to a minimum but we had a lovely time on our bird watching tour. There were so many birds in and around the camp as well, including the Grey Hornbill. We sincerely hope to revisit one day for a longer stay. Overall I'll recommend this hotel.

What an incredible experience! This hidden gem exceeded my expectations. The location is breathtaking, nestled in the heart of nature with stunning views of the river. The staff was friendly, attentive and always willing to help. Their food is simply delicious, with a variety of traditional dishes. The kayaking tour was a highlight, where we were able to see wild elephants up close and personal! Moreover, the tent was cosy and had all the necessary amenities. A great place to unplug and connect with nature.

While the location is ideal for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, it may not be suitable for those looking for a luxurious stay. The tents are quite basic, and the mattresses are hard. Also, some of the equipment did not cater to all sizes. Finally, some staff members could have been more welcoming to guests. Nonetheless, none of these issues impacted the overall experience, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing weekend getaway.
