During my recent stay at Mathis Retreat, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is situated in a serene, rural location, adjacent to a picturesque paddy field. I loved being able to share my environment with ants, frogs, and geckos - it added to the charm of the place. The cleanliness of the rooms was exceptional, and the food was truly exceptional. The staff were incredibly welcoming and charming, making me feel right at home. The hourly shuttle to Ubud was a convenient feature, allowing me to explore the city when I desired. I got exactly what I was looking for - a peaceful and high-end rural retreat.

During my Christmas stay at this hotel, I really enjoyed the friendly and welcoming staff who were always ready to help. the hotel's location was also a key factor, being close to the center and easily accessible. I appreciated the amazing massage and the outdoor pool, which had a picturesque view of the surrounding area.

Breakfast could have had more variety and the wifi was not the strongest, which made it difficult to stay connected. the noise level was also a bit high as I could hear people walking up and down the stairs.
