The rooms at Sapo Karo Rest House were comfortable and cozy. The breakfast included delicious scrambled eggs, toast, and a choice of jams. The staff was lovely and even gave me a complimentary coffee with milk upon my arrival. The manager was exceptionally helpful and offered great tour options without pushing a hard sell. They went above and beyond to assist us in getting transportation at odd hours on short notice. The location was great, with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful gardens. Cats could be seen around the property, adding to the homely feel. The hotel seemed popular with both Indonesian people and foreign tourists. It was also conveniently located within walking distance to Gunung Sibayak.

We had a wonderful romantic escape in this cozy homestay. We were able to plan our activities in advance, including a breathtaking sunrise view from a volcano and a delicious Javanese meal. the location was convenient, with easy access to transportation and a peaceful atmosphere. the WiFi worked well, allowing us to stay connected with loved ones. it was a great experience.

The nearby mosque's loud calls to prayer throughout the day, including early mornings, was a bit challenging to ignore. the furnishings in the room seemed worn and in need of some maintenance.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The hot shower and free WiFi were a nice bonus. The owner, Mr. Win, was extremely hospitable, friendly, and helpful. He arranged a separate tour package for us and even led our trek to the Gunung Sibayak volcano. The hotel is conveniently located just a short stroll from the fruit market and city center, with easy access to local food, souvenir shops, and interesting sights. it was a great experience for our family of 5.

As longer-term business travelers, we were impressed by the friendly staff who provided tours and negotiated for us. The owner, Erwin, was our guide for the Sibayak sunrise tour and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The rooms were comfortable and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was good and we found a great restaurant next door for dinner.

The location of the hotel was great, with many food places, markets, and shops nearby. We enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff who assisted us with organizing tours and providing advice on where to go and eat.

The communal spaces could have been cleaner, considering there were children and animals living there. The dated bathroom and faulty shower turned the whole bathroom into a wet room, making everything inside wet.

We could easily walk to the markets, the local volcano, and the market or street food. Additionally, the hotel staff provided us with a delicious breakfast and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
