Arriving at this place felt like stepping into a Tuscan fairy tale. the surrounding woods are the most beautiful I've ever walked through. the bed and cushions were incredibly comfortable, and everything in the lodge is made with love and high quality. the chef, who is also the lady of the house, prepared a superb Mediterranean dinner, and breakfast was equally delicious. I fell in love with the whole house and the hosts were marvelous, giving us a tour of the property, carrying our bags, and providing tea and a fire in the parlor. This is a must-stay for anyone interested in the Wicklow Way hike or exploring Wicklow and its surroundings. Patricia's cooking and gardening skills are fantastic, and Sean is a friendly and humorous host.

The location of Ballyteige Lodge is a dream, nestled on a hill with beautiful views of lush trees and gardens. The house itself is stunning with well-appointed rooms and plenty of places to relax and enjoy the rich decor and history. The bedrooms are bright and beautifully decorated, and the beds are super comfy. Sean, the owner, is friendly and welcoming, providing a delicious dinner at a reasonable fee and even packing a simple lunch for the next day. The house is not en-suite, but this is clearly communicated in advance. a highly recommended stay.

Value for money. Dog-friendly. Period house. No TV, ensuite or kettle in the bedrooms. Comfortable queen size beds. Reception and dining room for meeting other guests. Interesting and chatty owner. Scrambled egg breakfast with homemade jams and fresh bread. Packed lunches available. Top-notch coffee. Beautiful grounds and forests to explore. Highly recommend!

My recent stay at Ballyteige Lodge was a wonderful experience. The setting of the 18th century period house in the mountains of Ireland was absolutely breathtaking. The gardens surrounding the lodge were beautifully maintained and added to the charm of the place. The host was welcoming and provided us with lovely tea and biscuits upon arrival. The complementary snack in the evening was a nice touch, especially considering the remote location. The breakfast, though simple, was surprisingly tasty. I would highly recommend this hidden gem for a romantic getaway.
