The relaxed and luxurious ambience of this country house retreat is mind-blowing. With open log fires, candlesticks, pianos, fresh flowers, and 'New Age' mood music. The breakfast location in the oldest part of the hotel with a crackling log fire, beautiful background music, silver service, and period crockery is simply superb. The helpful and polite staff add to the overall amazing experience. The comfortable four poster bed in our room made us feel like VIPs. Despite almost missing breakfast, the prompt and sharp receptionist ensured we had a lovely, nicely cooked meal. The stunning garden and the relaxing piano room added to the wow-factor of our stay. The ruggedness and layout of the castle are unique and make it easy to get lost, in a good way. The owner and manager, Ted, was super and the lady on reception was more than helpful. The enjoyable breakfast and bar food added to the already jaw-dropping experience. A big thank-you to the hardworking management and staff for creating a spectacular hotel with clean, elegantly furnished rooms. The delicious dinner in the tea-room and the first-class breakfast were truly impressive. The fast and reliable wifi was a bonus.
