We had a wonderful stay at Gougane Barra. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome and the old-fashioned retro feel of the hotel was charming. The surrounding countryside, with its serene lake and lovely hillside views, was exceptional. We enjoyed exploring the glen and going for walks in the forest park. The food and wine at the hotel were superb, with a delicious and well-presented menu that changed daily. We highly recommend trying Katy's Fancy Fish dish and the interesting selection of wines and cocktails. Our bedroom had a breathtaking view of the lake, making our stay even more memorable.
