I was lucky enough to have a room with a view of the garbage cans on the street, and the bathroom smelled lovely! The small radiator and non-functional AC device were a fun surprise.

Just what I needed - a basic accommodation with no control over room temperature and a lovely bathroom odor.

The host, Lorenzo, was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to provide helpful recommendations for places to visit and how to get there. The room was clean and cozy, with a comfortable bed for a great night's sleep. Breakfast was served in the room and was just enough to keep us satisfied until lunch. Despite a few minor drawbacks, like thin walls and no tea or coffee facilities in the room, our overall experience at Soggiorno Downtown was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Rome.

Narrow Footpaths: Getting to the hotel via metro can be a bit challenging, especially if you have luggage. The narrow footpaths in the ancient city make it difficult to pull and push your belongings.
