The Green Hills Hotel in Onomichi is perfect for exploring the area, including the Shimanami Kaido cycling route. Its convenient location near the station, port, and bike rentals makes it ideal for venturing out. The room was clean, warm, and comfortable, providing a great base for our adventures. The staff were incredibly helpful, recommending a fantastic sushi place and even calling ahead to arrange a meal within our budget. Additionally, the hotel had an excellent shower, perfect for refreshing after a long day of exploring.

I had a great value for my money at Green Hill Hotel. The room was larger than typical Japanese hotels and had a wonderful view of the harbor. The location was perfect, being right across the train station and on top of the port and bicycle rental. The staff was friendly and even held my bag for me at no cost.

The hotel was conveniently located, just across from the train station and in front of the pier for the cycling routes. This made it easy for us to explore the area and rent bikes for the Shimanami Kaido ride. The room we stayed in had a fantastic view of the river from its picture window, which was a great bonus. Additionally, there was a lovely temple walk in the hilly streets behind the hotel, providing a peaceful and cultural experience.

While the hotel had its positives, there were a few drawbacks. there was a lack of literature and information in the room, and it was not organized well, leaving limited space for practical use.

The view from our room was absolutely mind-blowing! We were in awe as we watched the bustling working harbour through the picture window. Sitting at the small table, we couldn't tear our eyes away from the tugs and ferries that came and went, even on a rainy afternoon. The hotel's location was super convenient, being just a stone's throw away from the railway station, bike hire facilities, public transport, and ferries. This was our fifth stay, and every time we found the price to be a jaw-dropping value for money. The rooms, although typical in size for Japan, were well-appointed with all the essential amenities like a flat-screen TV, refrigerator, and electric kettle. While the mountain-side view might not be anything special, if you're lucky enough to snag a room on the port-side, the experience is truly unforgettable. The hotel's second-floor lobby offers a stunning panoramic view of the harbour, giving guests a real treat. The staff, although with limited English, went above and beyond to help us out, which we really appreciated. They even held onto our bags for free while we went on a bike ride. The breakfast served was absolutely delicious, and being able to enjoy it while gazing out at the harbour was the cherry on top. Our spacious and comfortable room provided the perfect retreat after a day of exploring, and with the JR station conveniently nearby, it couldn't have been easier to get around. All in all, our stay was an incredible experience, with the hotel's location, views, and friendly staff making it an unforgettable trip.

My partner and I stayed at Green Hill Hotel for 3 nights on our trip to explore the Seto Islands. The hotel's location was excellent, with easy access to the train station and ferry dock. We enjoyed the views of the working port and the waterway from our spacious and comfortable room. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast offered a variety of delicious Japanese and European dishes. great value for money and a perfect base for exploring the area.
